Vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin” has been studied extensively in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sufficient intake is absolutely essential for immune health. In an effort to combat global insufficiency, Lallemand has submitted an application to the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) to expand the food categories into which vitamin D yeast is permitted. Fortifying a variety of food products with vitamin D is a safe and easy way to ensure the population obtains enough of this critical vitamin.
This webinar will review the ongoing research about vitamin D for the prevention of COVID-19 and minimization of symptoms. We will also review the new food categories in the EU in which we expect vitamin D yeast will soon be allowed.
