This study examined the gastro-protective effect of Gastro-AD® on ethanol/HCL-induced gastric damage, including via gastric acid secretion.
Gastritis is a general term used for inflammatory diseases caused by an imbalance in the gastric environment of the stomach. The symptoms of gastritis can include indigestion, burning pain, nausea and vomiting. Gastro-AD® (soybean fermented using Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. delbrueckii or Rosell-187) has been previously demonstrated to suppress heartburn occurrence in individuals who experienced mild or moderate heartburn.
Study results revealed that the oral administration of Gastro-AD® has protective effects on gastric injury induced by ethanol/HCL treatment in rats. The data suggests that Gastro-AD® supplementation may prevent gastric injury through the suppression of gastric acid secretion.
