After a thorough preparation with the objective to support the increasing demand of North American customers, Lallemand has successfully obtained Non-GMO Project (NGP) Verification (www.nongmoproject.org).
Raw material suppliers who want to support increasing consumer demand for non-GMO products in North America need to commit to an authenticated system to satisfy their customers’ needs. Lallemand’s Bio-Ingredients yeast-based products are never genetically modified, yet we have decided to take the extra step to meet the more stringent Non-GMO Project Verification standards. The Non-GMO Project is the strictest non-GMO certification program currently available. The standard goes beyond confirming the absence of genetically modified DNA and also guarantees the materials, processes and other inputs used to produce our yeast. This allows our customers to provide verified non-GMO ingredients to consumers.
Our product range meeting the Non-GMO Project’s rigorous standards includes Saccharomyces cerevisiae and torula whole cell inactive yeast, yeast extracts and yeast autolysates for Savory and Health Ingredients.
Kindly note that Non-GMO Project Verification is not intended to replace the “non-GMO Statement” and “Strain Certificates” offered by our QA department. We guarantee GMO-free status for all the products in the Lallemand Bio-Ingredients range (for more information, consult the Certificate of Conformance).
